The Draw and Explore Social Studies series is a great way to combine art and social studies. A short description of ten different architectural elements is given. Each is followed by an image of the element on a grid. Next, students can do one or both of the assignments that follow. They can draw half of the element in a grid that shows half of the picture, or they can draw the entire element on an empty grid. Ten review questions and an answer key are also included. Elements included are entablature, flying buttress, gambrel roof, groined vault, keystone, pediment, pendentive, stepped/crowstepped gable, truss roof, and voussoir. 26 pages total.
