42. Workshop: Introduction to Research Writing

Prepares students for the structure and organization of a research paper. Topics in this course include thesis statement development, outlining, creating well-developed paragraphs, and understanding how to paraphrase. It also introduces the ideas of voice and utilizing description to create an engaging paper. Assignments are weekly and require about 2-3 hours of time per week. This is a prerequisite for Research Writing I. Starts the first Monday of every month and runs for 4 weeks.  Assignments will be weekly, due each Friday at midnight, EST.  Classes are designed to take about 2-3 hours per week.
